Research Space 07: Phillip Henderson

Phillip Henderson is Goldfactory Research space artist in residence number 7 for May 2008


Once in high summer I listened to a rare stranger from the eastern half of Europe singing in a Northamptonshire wood.

Phillip is a composer and ‘pataphysician currently writing a PhD; On The Spectrum Of Drone at University College for the Creative Arts. The thesis and performances have a strong emphasis on duration. He performs drone improvisations to live audiences and recently began an ongoing series of works on the invention of the time machine. Phillip collaborates with many artists and he was a founder and core member of Reactor 2002~07.

    Wow, this was another great exhibition. As drone goes this was amazing on the ball stuff. I was impressed and think if we have more exhibitions of this standard we are at the top of Nottinghams alternatie space standards.
